さきに、
日本国憲法及び皇室典範特例法の定めるところにより皇位を継承いたしました。
ここに「即位礼正殿の儀」を行い即位を内外に宣明いたします。
上皇陛下が三十年以上にわたる御在位の間、常に国民の幸せと世界の平和を願われ、
いかなる時も国民と苦楽を共にされながら、
その御み心を御自身のお姿でお示しになってきたことに改めて深く思いを致し、
ここに国民の幸せと世界の平和を常に願い国民に寄り添いながら憲法にのっとり
日本国及び日本国民統合の象徴としてのつとめを果たすことを誓います。
国民の叡智（えいち）とたゆみない努力によって我が国が一層の発展を遂げ国際社会
の友好と平和、人類の福祉と繁栄に寄与することを切に希望いたします。

Having previously succeeded to the Imperial Throne in accordance with the Constitution
of Japan and the Special Measures Law on the Imperial House Law.
I now perform theCeremony of Enthronement at the Seiden State Hall and proclaim my
enthronement to those at home and abroad.
I deeply reflect anew that for more than 30 years on the Throne, His Majesty the
Emperor Emeritus constantly prayed for the happiness of the people and world peace,
always sharing in the joys and sorrows of the people, and showing compassion through
his own bearing.
I pledge hereby that I shall act according to the Constitution and fulfill my responsibility
as the symbol of the State and of the unity of the people of Japan, while always wishing
for the happiness of the people and the peace of the world, turning my thoughts to the
people and standing by them.
I sincerely hope that our country, through our people’s wisdom and unceasing efforts,
achieves further development and contributes to the friendship and peace of the
international community and the welfare and prosperity of humankind.
